A Little Bit About Me!

Hey guys, I am Michelle. I am also known as Shelly, Shel, Bella or Miche by my friends and family, so I answer to many names!! I am married to the love of my life and my best friend Chris. We got married in December 2016 after being in a relationship for 5 years. Chris calls me Shelly so this is my chosen name for my blog!!! Chris is the most amazing man I have ever met and supports me in everything I do. We couldn’t be more different but they do say opposites attract!!! We have some amazing friends with whom we share life’s journey with, and we are lucky enough to have a wonderful family too. Myself and Chris both turned 30 in 2017 and people often tell us ‘your 30’s are the best years of your life’, which made us excited to join the 30’s club!

I have worked in the NHS as a midwife for the last 7 years and I absolutely love my job, even though some days are very challenging. What could be more precious than helping women to bring new life into the world? We live in a beautiful flat and are hoping to buy our family home this year in 2018. I love to shop and go on holidays but my favourite thing to do is clean!!! My husband would tell you that I have OCD when it comes to our home being clean and tidy! Cleaning makes me happy 🙂 I like things to be perfect, but I have learnt that life is not and cannot always be perfect.

Life has been extremely kind to me so far, however I am writing this blog to share with you the current challenges in my life. I will hopefully talk about some positive things too! I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason and everything we go through in life makes us the person we are. However I am struggling to find the reason why I am currently being denied the one thing I want most in the world….a baby. I have spent the last 10 years of my life (3 years training and 7 years qualified) supporting thousands of women during their journey into motherhood and I am ready for it to be my turn. I want nothing more than to be a mum and to complete our family with a baby….or two!!! But it seems that this is not written in the stars for us just yet!!!

I am starting this blog in January 2018 as I am keen to share my story with other people and I hope you will join me to share our journey. This blog is mainly to help keep me sane and to share my thoughts with others. I hope to inspire women who may be going through a similar struggle in life. I am trying to adopt a new ‘positive vibe’ for 2018, in the hope that it will help me get through the challenges I am going to face.

I am so grateful for my wonderfully supportive husband, friends and family with whom we have been through part of our journey with already. I wouldn’t be the person I am without all of your support and guidance. I hope to make you all proud 🙂

Sincerely, Shelly x
